Have you ever wished for a nice, quiet dog that would be happy just hanging out with you; perhaps a companion to complete your home and fill a void in your heart? What about a dog that doesn’t need a lot of exercise? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, Kia could be the girl for you. Kia is approx. 9 yrs. old, she weighs about 60#, she is spayed and she is looking for a home that will love her for the rest of her life. Kia’s personality can be described as laid back, loves to sleep and enjoys just hanging out. Kia is a little shy upon meeting new people, but once she gets to know you, she will be your best buddy. She is doing well with kids; still cautious with strangers and it takes her a little longer with men. If she feels threatened she will bark, but a little reassurance on your part should ease her.
This little girl was picked up as a stray and taken to a shelter in Southern Ohio where our rescue found her; very shy and scared to death. We can only speculate as to what her past was like but we do know one thing for sure; Kia is a very caring and loving girl that needs an owner as laid back as she is. You may be wondering why she doesn’t need a lot of exercise, well Kia has arthritis. She can go on short walks, but she is also just as happy lying in a comfy place and chewing on a bone. Actually this girl prefers to travel in style. She loves to ride in the car!
Kia is also good with other dogs, but not sure about cats, she minds on command, she does not need to be crated, no food aggression and 100% housebroken. She will need pain medication for her arthritis and she also takes Glucosamine on a daily basis. This girl just needs a place to call her home where she can be safe and sleep comfortably.
